Mike, I have played corporates many times, but, in general, if I like a co. well enough to buy its bonds, I buy the convertible or the stock or do a bullish option spread. The payoff for being right is much better and the penalty for being wrong can be deadly for all of those positions. In general, I prefer to play govt. and intl. govt bonds and use more equity oriented trades for corporates. Besides, most US corporations have decided to gerrymander their balance sheets, so credit quality really stinks in the corporate sector.
