Just general fear surrounding the semiconductors. I can't see the supply/demand situation getting any better before the end of the year, if that. More demand for second half is always the case.

Sorry, semi bears.

My comments on Yahoo are basically that some stocks which have run way, way up prior to earnings are dropping after earnings. Atmel on the other hand has been run way, way down.

Do note, however, that Altera and Microchip (ALTR, MCHP) are holding on to gains--these are the two companies which overlap with Atmel's market.

ATML should meet earnings, the question is - "Will it surpass earnings?" ATML is fairly valued around 40 with a fair pe in this range at todays market value and future value with expected and current earnings if you crunch the numbers. If ATML can beat the street and the market stays favorable, it could retest the 43-50 range, otherwise it's back under 35. Go ATML.....
