You got me, I've never had the misfortune to be stuck with a pile of stock and expiring futures contracts.

More's the pity.

I know how it's done in OEX, they drive the daylights out of it late one afternoon then exercise it all at the Close. Then it has to Open lower the next day.

The logical thing with Futures I would imagine is to roll. Which is freakin' great for a Commercial who is Short them. S/he gets to collect the slashed and burned premium by buying them in and selling out the next month, collecting another 20 bucks of premium per contract....in effect starting all over.

Wouldn't you think?
