Scumbria,

Generally, stocks trade based on the expectations of earnings for the future.

Generally speaking, the behavior of AMD stock is much less volatile than RMBS.

Because, until recently, no one had any expectations that AMD would do very well (look at the 15 year chart). The recent success has changed that, at least for now. I wouldn't want to be in the stock when Intel gets their act back together.

Where would RMBS be trading right now if it weren't for the Toshiba and Hitachi settlements?

Maybe up only 300% to 400% for the year instead of 500%? However, the lifetime performance for RMBS has been far better than the lifetime performance of AMD.
