John,

Your post is a description of my upcoming vacation in late September.

Listening to conf call right now:

In answer to a Jonathan Joseph question about the P4 ramp, Otellini just said: "P4 will ramp in HIGH volumes in 2H00." "We've VERY comfortable with the RDRAM supply that will support the Willamette ramp."

To another question he said, "We don't see any "kit (processors, memory, etc) limiters for the P4 ramp."

Seems to be quite a concern amongst the questioners about the availability of RDRAM for the P4 ramp. Intel has brushed aside these concerns in this conf call while describing the shipment of "high volumes" of the P4 this year. And a paraphrase: "We still view the Rambus technology as the best for our desktop processors."
