Eric L: That post was a little light (certainly in brainpower on my part) but it struck me that we were getting very detailed and sort of lost in the minutia.

Since I see data as the key to CDMA's and Qualcomm's future, I picked Samsung, since that company has worked closely with Qualcomm for many years, is coming on strong in the marketplace worldwide (and even getting name recognition in the US), but primarily because Samsung announced the ability to provide the means for over 5Mb in data speed next year. This last is twice the speeds that have been claimed for HDR. So the company is symbolic of how a company can take CDMA2000 and run with it. The IPR is Qualcomm's but the "engine" (for want of a better word) is Samsung. There should be many companies who will be in Samsung's postition in a couple of years. But Samsung "announced" first, so I chose it.

As is obvious, this is not a very polished effort on my part but I was trying to be bare bones.

Best as always.
