Programming is now shipping for the US and Eurpopean spec. 1999-2000 S4/A6. As many know there are chips already GIAC chips out there. We have been doing them for the German market for over 1 year for the 265 HP models, and even some prototype higher output factory models. We have applied this mapping to the US spec. cars to offer a proven ECU upgrade.

This is a very high torque chip. We estimate 315-360 foot/lbs torque, with 300-315 HP. This was possible with 1.0-1.1 bar, 14-16 psi. The programming includes complete recalibration of the whole file to provide power in all gears and under all loads. This program has no noticeable turbo lag. It is quite an exciting ride after this modification. We can customize these settings for race applications as a special request.

Once we get access to a 4wd dyno we will post the results. Direct from the dyno software- not an Excell word processing plot.

GIAC chip installed (ECU inside). All socketed with removable chips and you will have the option to get the stock chip back for a fee, so you switch back and forth as desired.

Specifications: (stage 2- default chip, have stage 1-3, 3+ for bigger turbos)

Rev limit reset to 7050 RPM. (can reset anywhere you like)
Speed limiter removed.
Remapped fuel.
Remapped advance timing.
Mass air recalibration.
Load recalibration.
High boost fix (to get 1 bar)- GIAC chip is 14-16.5 psi 1.0-1.1 bar average, more boost for stage 3+.
Special settings recalibrated to get 1 bar and remain OBDII friendly, and 1551 scan invisible.
Cost $595 USd + shipping cost. 48 hour turn around. We can get new ECUs and chip them if you like for an extra cost of ~$525 for most models.

For activating cruise control on the new factory ECUs. Using VWtool or 1551/1552/5051/The Edge:

Under "login" feature of the scan tool. Enter the code number 11463 to turn it on. A "G000x" should appear under the engine electronics display.

For GIAC performance reprogramming of these cars you must send in your ECU to be reprogrammed because the chip is soldered down. Otherwise you can purchase GIAC chips for desolder/solder install on your own. Please check our sales page for a local - GIAC Solder install center (chip while you wait.) or mail them your ECU.
