and we will be generating AMD sized revenues starting 4Q.

I hope not, for your sake. You might get an AMD sized market cap!

As for Itanium, well, I'm sure it is well cooked. ggg

PS- Who did you conquer the desktop market from?

Re: Its the vision thing. We are investing in the Internet vision - 2 billion connected eyeballs. We have conquered the desktop, laptop, and WS markets. The Server Market is next. It is already paid for (IA64 R&D - mostly)and we will be generating AMD sized revenues starting 4Q. Stick a fork in it, the Server market is done. Wireless is next. Anyhow that is the bet.

Mary --

Desktop, laptop and server are all in the IABG (I don't know what WS market is). IABG made $3.26 billion in the second quarter. It is the other unrelated businesses that lost $850 million that I am questioning.

I am all for the vision thing, as long as there is the discipline to admit mistakes and cut losses.

Regards,

JR

Hi Mary,

2 billion? I don't think they've painted that picture quite yet. Andy's vision was ONLY 1 billion connected pc's or whatevers.

Of course if you are talking actual eyeballs and not devices, you are correct.

Nice to see you posting again.

Barry
