Unity?! ... as far as Me, Myself and I, sure ... after that it's every man for himself ... 'unity' as in 'party unity' is how you get such weird politics as in the US where every voter must choose one of two packages, both of which contain some pretty smelly stuff ... even worse Canada, where one party stakes out the perceived 'middle' and robs every other party of their popular platforms ... there's something natural, however appalling, in the cubano and pre-2-July mexicano systems, a single party is the ultimate in that desire for 'unity'.

No, we are too complex a species for that, too varied ... Local politics is the worst by far, the most dirty ... more municipalities should pass bylaws against nuclear weapons for that very reason, imho.

But now that you mention it - got any marielito stories? -g-
