Dan, last year the earnings where $.02 and the stock has more than doubled since (actually about quadrupled), maybe your metric is missing something? To paraphrase an old slogan, "it is the economy ($4/share in two three years), stupid". At your 50 PE that would be $200 share in two three years, some people do not mind a double bagger in two years, particularly if they already have a more than four bagger under their belt.

Rambus Earnings.
Let's see... quarterly earnings of 4 cents per share, we'll give it a P/E of 50 since it's growing... This stock could be worth as much as $8 per share! What a buy at the current price!
