The boy is only three-- still just a baby. He could have been born with it.
ALthough I worked an abuse case once with a two or three year old girl who'd been abused so I suppose anything is possible.

Washington Post--
Friday May 19, 2000 1:00 p.m. EDT If the Elián González case highlighted some surprising issues relating to the Cuban-American community in Florida and America's Cuba policy, then the case of Phanupong Khaisri, the two year old Thai child nicknamed Got, may have the same impact on the troubling issue of slavery and sex trafficking between Asia and the United States.

The toddler was brought into the country by a couple; the man is suspected to be connected to an international drug smuggling ring. The woman was destined to be a sex slave somewhere in the U.S. The boy had been rented to the couple by his mother for $250, used by the couple to give the impression that the three were traveling as a family.

As the fate of this 2-year old is being decided by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the circumstances that landed the boy in the U.S. are also being scrutinized. A recent Central Intelligence Agency report estimates that as many as 50,000 women and children are trafficked to America for sexual and other purposes. Today's guest is online to discuss the ramifications of this troubling issue.
