Without prolonging on this issue, I just wanted to make a final comment.

People that are different almost always claim persecution while lobbying for special laws to which will supposedly protect them.

Fifteen years ago I was Manager at Zellers (a large Canadian dept. store chain). On any given month we would arrest approximately 30 shoplifters. Of the 30 or so shoplifters, 27-28 would be white while 2-3 were black. Despite the disproportionately higher number of whites that we would arrest, the 2-3 blacks would almost always accuse us of being racist. They would seek the sympathy of other shoppers by yelling out calls of racism while being confronted with the stolen merchandise. "Lady I'm not arresting you 'cause you're black, it's because you have $400 worth of unpaid jeans in your bag."

You see Steven, the laws are already there. They are impartial to all. A criminal is a criminal regardless of skin color, religion or sexual orientation. If you adopt special laws for special groups then in essence you are saying that we are NOT all equal.
