Well, despite what the cheerleaders on this thread may say, I STILL see no evidence which indicates Intel is making significant progress in transforming the new initiatives into profitable business groups. The combined (Wireless Comm. and Computing Group/Comm. Prod Group/Network Comm. Products Group/Network Business Group) entities have a near $6 billion dollar run rate and now appear to be losing over $2 billion per year. These losses seem to be accelerating. I think I recall $1.4 billion loss for all of last year. Needles to say, this can not continue indefinitely. Still - Intel refuses to break out any detail on the performance of these groups despite the fact they totaled over 16% of total revenue this quarter. As a shareholder, I find this disturbing. While it surely will take some time to turn profits in some of these areas, it is way past due that Intel report detailed revenue/earnings on them. The revenues and especially the losses are materially effecting Intel's stock price. The shareholder should have sufficient information in these areas to make an informed judgement on Intel's potential success (timing and magnitude) in these new growth areas. They clearly do not. On face value alone, it appears these initiatives are failing miserably. ARE they????
