Mystery Bidder Pays $1.7 Million to Play
with Woods

DUBLIN, Ireland (Reuters) - A mystery bidder at a
charity auction paid $1.7 million to play a round of golf
with world No. 1 Tiger Woods.

The high-rolling winning bidder will join Woods and Mark
O'Meara for 18 holes later this year in Florida.

Former British Open and U.S. Masters champion
O'Meara joked that he would throw in a lesson for free
after bidding went through the $1.2 million level, Ireland's RTE radio
reported.

The auction was held Tuesday after a two-day charity pro-am tournament
organized by Irish racehorse owner and gambler JP McManus in Limerick.

The event, which attracted Woods and a host of top players, is believed to
have raised up to $12.04 million for local charities.

Woods is expected to take a brief fishing holiday in Ireland before heading to
St. Andrews for next week's British Open.

I've been wondering about the Liquid Metal clubs. They are hugely expensive and look fantastic (IMO). Their ads are great too, but I wonder if they would be legal if what they show in the ads is true. Any alloy with that level of energy transfer would just have to be outlawed by the USGA, don't you think?
