Painful in the short-term, probably a good idea for the long-term.
Something fixed regulated gold prices at $35, getting deregulated and going to $850, before finding equilibrium closer to $300 ;)

SD is getting pretty crazy, too ! I did not buy a house when I moved here, but rented and put my money in the stock market instead. I could buy into the current market and have plenty of change leftover. No regrets being a renter.
