You must be starving.

Used to be they would still be picking corn in January. Tilling and fertilizing happened in the spring. Now any field, not ready for planting the next spring, by November is way behind. New hybreds grow so quick and have fast dry down.

Some corn lore Dave. Seed that would do well in Central Illinois will grow too tall in Minnesota (hours of sun). There are three types of field corn. Flat leaf, semi upright leaf and pineapple leaf. The more upright the top leaves are the better the production in a wet year. Flatter leaf varieties do better in drier years.
