mark, It's hard to tell what Texans may do. He caught ole billy hell for granting a stay last week. One other thing about Texas Constitution, any Governor, regardless of who the individual may be, can only grant one stay to a person on death row. Any Governor following, must abide by that one stay, and cannot grant a second one.

Why is that a wild statement? Look, Bush knows that not a single person executed in the past 50 years in this country has been exonerated of his crime. And, taken literally, EVERY person was in fact proved guilty by a jury and exercised 18 years of appeals and case review. I don't see the statement as wild at all.
