why do humans rule over all the animals of the Earth?? That's an easy one, because they are smarter and so developed technology which was better than anything the other animals could evolve in the same amount of time. It's not like a lion could look at a land rover and think "Hmmm, I think I'll evolve some wheels". Why humans instead of dolphins? Some animal (if any were to evolve self awareness) had to be first and the choices are limited to those who had most of the characteristics in place already. Changes in ideas (meme evolution) proceeds at a much faster rate than biological evolution (gene evolution) because you don't need to wait for a new generation to be born and raised and weeded out. TP
