We don't need the changes occurring in animals to adapt to the environment,
Perhaps we don't need it, but like the fortune cookie at the end of a chinese dinner, you get it anyway. I predict less evolution in humans for a different reason. The greater amount of travel keeps the gene pool mixed up pretty good. A whole new species does not evolve unless there is separate breeding populations which are undergoing different selection pressures. Humans like to mate with each other enough to preclude any gene isolation so long as we are confined to the same planet.
