It depends which designs you're talking about. Many of the 100 systems were started while RDRAM was even more expensive but after the RDRAM intro. And I expect we'll continue to see it there (witness the 5% differential for the Dell B and T series systems).

On the whole, however, I'd agree that RDRAM is not being used in other types of designs. The main issues is that it's still too expensive. No doubt about it. And, to be quite honest, a low volume design might have trouble getting a consistent supply right now. But what I said was that it will be considered for more designs as the price gets to parity. Not now. When the price comes down. Your argument was based on the price not coming down, and I'd agree that if it doesn't, we won't see any wins outside of the system space. But, again, the price is continuing to come down, and the trend is our friend.

Dave
