ATHM liked more than AOL?

Excerpt from company press release: Results of a study conducted in early July by Harris Interactive showed that Excite@Home customers are now 40% more likely than dial-up ISP users -- and 80% more likely than AOL users -- to be completely satisfied with their service.

I think you are right about the fact that there still needs to be a truck roll.

However, if the user buys a computer with the card and modem that ATHM wants (or buys a kit and hooks everything up), then the install time will be cut by quite a bit.

Interesting to note that ATHM is outsourcing some of the truck rolls and feels good about it. Also, they have cut it down to a one man job.

Bell was pretty strong, in his CNBC interview, about making the 3 mil subs. The best part of that interview was when Sue said to him:

"It seems you have a lot of brain drain because people have been leaving the company. I know you have implied that they did not all leave willingly. Are all the replacements over?"

Bell replied: "As far as I am concerned they are. Everyone that was disposed to leave has gone. We have a excellent CFO from GMH with lots of experience who is starting right now."

...disposed to leave... - I love that.

but I don't believe the no truck thing

Bell definitely said "no truck roll"- then zipped right past it as if it were no big deal.

I literally slept through part of the CC- but didnt hear it discussed in any detail again.

Why dont you believe it? How f'n hard can it be to not do a truck roll? I'm stunned beyond belief that they did not have self install a year ago.
