I just thought of one more thing none of the Mac news sites touched upon in their Macworld coverage. All three of the new Mac monitors (new 17" CRT, new 15" LCD, redesigned 22" LCD) use only a single connector for power, USB and video. That's right, instead of three cables to connect you'll only have one! Cool, eh?

RoyBatty,

Re: "Perhaps that's why it will only be available through the Apple Store -- to those people who prefer form over function and enjoy paying sales tax no matter what state they live in."

Article posted earlier noted the 450 model in stores. Are you sure Apple Store charges sales tax to all states? Since I live in a no sales tax state this would seriously discourage me from supporting Apple by buying direct.

Re: "The new mouse and keyboard look to be good."

Why only one button, still? I look forward to test-driving one of these new mice but I have grown accustomed to dual-buttons on my PC.

Re: "Steve Jobs was not amused by ATI's preannouncement..."

Thanks for the insidemacgames link. I was wondering why there wasn't anything in the news reports on this.

ps: I hope the SI-AAPL board continues to build a community. I have been frequenting RB but wonder if I will ever be able to catch up on AAPL & AMD posts there!
