I've been looking around, I can't find any "after tax" earning estimates for AMD to make a comparison with.

All I have seen is AMD reported 1.51 untaxed against a 1.14 untaxed earning estimate. Some people might consider that a blowout.

Just noodeling here, I saw the way it was stated, also, and I have not taken the time to go back to review last Q's AMD earnings statement,

but ALL earnings estimates ALWAYS subtract the reserve for tax, so I betcha, because of AMD's Net Operating Loss Carry Foward, AMD did not PAY a tax on the previous Q's earnings.

They didn't want to say it that way, because it would remind the analysts of the YEARS of previous loses, so they just obliquely mentioned that if they didn't have to pay taxes THIS time, the increase in income would have been even better! :))
