Hi all; Did we miss this not too important bit of DDR news?

Fairchild offers complete memory interface solution for DDR DIMMs
Driven by surging consumer demand for more memory in workstations and Internet servers, Fairchild Semiconductor International Corp. claimed today to be the first to offer a complete memory interface support solution for DIMMs used in PCs and Internet servers. The result will increase the memory and operating speed of those PCs and servers.

Fairchild, South Portland, Maine, estimates the market for these devices, which will be sold to memory module manufacturers, will exceed $100 million in 2001.

Carl,

Transmeta is a big fan of DDR

Bill Gervassi, a member of the JEDEC memory subcommittee, has held an influential position at Transmeta for some time.

It wasn't really a surprise that they embraced DDR.

Carl,

What time frame do the Rambus execs have RDRAM within 25% of SDRAM?

First part of 2001, I believe. You can check my notes from the annual meeting at www.rambusite.com. I think it was in there.
