Did anyone notice that CNet's Kanellos revised the story slightly by adding this disclaimer (but no new numbers):

""... although the exact consensus estimate is murky,
because analysts differed in how they calculated their individual estimates."

I sent YET ANOTHER EMAIL back to him, saying that NOT EVEN ONE ANALYST estimated taxed earnings, also quoting the WSJ article which quotes Dan Niles and AMD themselves.

I also pointed out that Yahoo's history of the consensus number shows that this number has only increased and never decreased over the entire 3 month time period.

I concluded with, "Your statement, "the exact consensus estimate is murky, because analysts differed in how they calculated their individual estimates"

... is not supportable by any facts. The analysts consensus estimate was clearly based on untaxed earnings. Therefore it should be compared to AMD's untaxed earnings for Q2'00, which were $1.51 per share.
