The other possibility is the DOJ disallowing the merger to go through. Objections may be raised. Every analyses I've read says worst-case JDS may have to divest a portion of the co, but that it's highly unlikely they would be blocked completely. The competition is far larger than the combined co., with far bigger war chests, and none are directly tied to consumers. The DOJ does not want to stop innovation, but prevent a monopoly that would cause consumer prices to be artificially inflated. Just my take. Pat
