G* Service now available in Norway, per G* Northern Europe

globalstar.fi

"Initially, Globalstar Northern Europe customers can make satellite phone calls to anyone in
the world from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. More countries will be announced
as the Globalstar worldwide roll-out continues."

Yesterday, only Denmark, Finland and Sweden were listed.

Life goes on......

The drop rate for the G* service is almost non-existant. I was told that less than 20 had turned their phones in as of a month ago in the US.

<When Iridium flipped their switch on, many people reported that the service sucked. G* users appear to love their service.

I think a critical factor in the success of G* will be tracking the number of people who cancel service. G* has practically no competitors for now...but if people can't use it or don't use it...then they will cancel.

Can anybody elaborate?>

That is one of the fantastic things about Globalstar. Reports from GUSA and IR has revealed that the satisfaction of customers has been the highest ever experienced in the history of the cellular industry. This is another reason the service providers are so excited about its future. The cancellation rate has been practically nonexistent(Unheard of before). This is a good gauge of the how well it works. I have heard sources say that Iridium on the other hand had a very high cancellation rate.

Remember, happy customers do talk. They are great advertising and one of the reasons that exponential growth can continue for quite some time. My phone is excellent.

Cancellations will presumably show up on an auction Website when people sell their handset. Though there are 2 year contracts so I suppose there might be a 'you can return your handset for some credit' clause in the agreement so the phone would go back to the distributor.

Meanwhile, look what's happening here. siliconinvestor.com
A shame Globalstar isn't doing this. We are still way down the left end of the graph. But SDLI is producing a product which will enhance Globalstar by enabling smaller and cheaper communications from anywhere to anywhere with fast WWeb. All technology developments will disproportionately help Globalstar rather than terrestrial systems [that's my theory anyway]. Costs on the ground can only go to zero. Costs for Globalstar have got a LOT of room to move down.

PS: Did I dream that G! only has 13000 subscribers? Only 1M MOU and they still don't report it as a graph on their globalstar.com
I'll go outside [on a sunny day] to avoid having to wake up.

<What Im saying is that most here have believed everything G* has said and almost NOTHING has been even close to accurate. So, when Bernie say he has financing should I judge that statements validity on the results of past statements?>

It's a bit like the Great Globalstar Memorial Day Massacre, which became the Independence Day Celebration and subsequently the Bastille Day Globalstar Celebration Silicon Investor Short Squeeze. I bet some people are starting to not believe there will be a short squeeze and there really is NO wolf going to come.

I admit to taking Globalstar 'promises' 'plans' and 'expectation' as fantasies now that so many, many things have not converted to reality. The Engineering people did an amazingly good job. All components succeeded admirably with the single failure of Zenit [and minor glitches]. We are selling a service which performs beyond subscriber expectations. That is a very huge plus.

I bet the huge advantage and expectation surpassing is the fact that THERE IS NO VOICE DELAY. Subscribers will love that. AND the voice quality is simply excellent.

I hope Mike Kerr was the right one to dump. Maybe he is a scapegoat and somebody else set the absurdly high price which is one of the main problems since Canada and Australia haven't done much good either.

[Carter, I know you didn't write that - I did a double post so commented on anothere here].
