SanDisk blows away estimates

SanDisk Corp. (SNDK: news, msgs) is surging 10 1/32, or 16.7 percent, to 70 1/32. The Sunnyvale, Calif., provider of flash memory products reported second-quarter earnings of $24.3 million, or 33 cents a share, up from last year’s profit of $5.7 million, or 10 cents a share, and well ahead of First Call’s average estimate of 22 cents a share. Revenue rose 174 percent in the latest three months to $143.9 million from $52.5 million in the same period a year earlier. The company attributed the stellar growth to increased revenues from CompactFlash and MultiMediaCard products and higher license and royalty revenues. SanDisk said it expects its markets to remain supply constrained and the pricing environment for its products to remain benign over the next several quarters.

Latest from the Court Docket:

"7/19/00 86 ORDER by Magistrate Judge James Larson granting plaintiff's motion to compel [254-1] in 3:98-cv-01115,granting motion to compel deposition of Jeff Wong [73-1] in 99-cv-02463 FILED UNDER SEAL ( Date Entered: 7/19/00)(cc: all counsel) [3:98-cv-01115, 3:99-cv-02463] (mcl)[Entry date 07/19/00] [3:98cv1115 3:99cv2463]"

Now, if anyone knows who "Jeff Wong" is, I could make more sense out of this. This motion to compel his deposition has been a bone of contention in the case for a long time. Good to see another SanDisk victory at least in this battle. I have a suspicion he may be Lexar's expert.
