For political reasons, no major US telecoms will be purchased by foreign companies in the near or mid-term. The Senate's mesage was simple - lots of oversight, lots of delays, lots of problems. A Senate resolution or two, on the popular side of an emotional issue.

This is why Sprint is out of play. This is why NTT and DT are presently "nibbling around the edge", floating the recent balloon with VSTR, a smaller fish.

IMO, of course.
