In my prior post I wrote...

"Even among informed investors there remains much confusion and cloudiness regarding the segmentation of the flash market. I have to educate new investors about SanDisk's merits in this regard, however the constant churning of shares on the market indicate that the message is still not out.

I meant to say...

"I have tried to educate new investors..."

I really meant to say...

"The SI SNDK Thread has tried to educate new investors..."

There are several other typos that are self-evident.
Sorry about that, I and my mind are currently on vacation.

Aus,

Very good summary. I would like to disagree with one point.

You said:

If Q4 1999 represented retail sales over the holidays, and Q1 2000 represented aftermarket sales from Q4, then what does Q2 2000 represent??? In my opinion SanDisk has left behind its previously seasonal sales pattern.

SanDisk products are, for the most part, consumer products. As consumer products they will always have a seasonal component to their demand. I believe that the growth of the marketplace, through new applications and the rapid acceptance in the established applications, makes it appear that sales have not declined because of seasonality. My guess is that the demand for the 4th quarter gift season will show that the seasonal component is still there. IMHO, 4th quarter demand will be huge.

A minor point, thanks,

John

Eli and many within the company remain frustrated with the market's current misinterpretation of SanDisk, the technology SanDisk has spearheaded, the markets served, and the competitors they face

Aus, then why don't they have a recorded CC? Having one would have allowed countless people to hear Eli's comments regarding the impending capacity expansion and its minimal effect on Sandisk.
