".. I think we bet on the right team" Charles, hell, lets not be so modest! I think today is a big step in Sun's graduation from the ranks of Unix HW Vendor to Technology Leader - aka Cisco, IBM and yes even Microsoft. Now lets just go get Cisco's P/E and ill be even more happy. My 800 shares bought in 1997 is now 3200 shares. Avg cost of $7 a share.

CT: My favorite line in the entire call was when someone asked what inning we were in or something like that. Scott replied that the first out hadn't been made in the first inning. Sounds like the good times will continue for quite a while. Had to like the enthusiasm and confidence. dmf

Dear Charles: YES, I truly believe it was the best CC I have ever heard SUNW give and I havent missed a single one in several years. My only complaint is to me at least, SCOTT is beginning to act like a Chairman and not a Maverick. Most of you probably appreciate that, but me, I liked the cocky maverick. haha. Compared to the incredible excitement of the others, I thought Scott sounded REGAL!! Hanging around Jack Welch too much IMHO. (gg) However, I did like his replies to some of the questions put to him that were obviously designed to try and put a damper on the report. One I especially liked was when someone asked something to the extent that werent they making outlandish deals to "save" accounts. Scott said something like this, " Yes, I read those ridiculous press comments myself, bye the way, did you notice our Gross Margin percent? (52.1%) and went on to say we dont give product away or something to that effect. Another one was related to IBM and are they a threat, to which Scott replied, dont read the ADS, read the NUMBERS.
