Thanks for the comprehensive analysis. One aspect that is missing is bulk sales to organizations. Look at how Qualcomm sells to fleets. 10,000 unit orders from a large trucking company. Schlumberger could buy a 1000 phones for just their worldwide field crews. So could oil drilling and prospecting companies. Similarly Verizon, Baby Bells, Cable Companies, Ambulance companies, etc. could buy big chunks. Those sales have not been cornered. The phenomenon begins in vertical industries. Two-three companies adopt it and the rest follow. We have not seen any such bulk announcements (except for the few hundred to be sold to Mexican gas stations). And the IFN one.

I did post one example of $150 million project by DOD for satellite services, that included Iridium and Inmersat units.
