you got your S&P 500. Now, you're not gonna start pumping stock split now, are ya???

Not really. I was just trying to sort out the factors involved for the trading in the comings and this is just one of the factors involved.
I think once the S and P has added it, there will be other funds that will buy on any drop since many want to be in stocks that are similiar to the S and P 500. Chances are they will be beaten by the S and P unless they are tech funds. Remember JDSU will be a big one in the index and a lot of active managers that have avoided it will look for opportunities to buy it. That should keep a good support under this stock once added.

However, as always there are no guarantees of how well JDSU will do. Even the pros don't really have a clue. My major point has been that funds have already scaled down their JDSU positions in the last few months and especially after the SDLI deal. A lot of the excesses may have been taken out of this stock in the past couple of months.

Good Luck.
