Thanks Neo. I don't know why I thought he was a pilot.

The Britannica needs to update. American Opinion magazine is now called the New American, and they have moved their headquarters to Appleton, Wisconsin. (the hometown of Joe McCarthy)

The name change of the magazine and the move happened at least 10 years ago.
