Earlie, Thank you. I saw the report from your cross country trip that you posted on the MB thread. I just wonder if there are specific sectors of the chip industry that would be immune. My take from your comment is that the entire industry is probably at a top here. mike

<<< I can tell you for a fact that one of the big box builders is quietly trying to unload a huge quantity of AMD micros (including plenty of high end micros) and the prices under discussion are a fraction of the current spot market (and the spot market for micros is already "soft"). AMD chips have been in much heavier demand than Intel's so the situation is deteriorating very quickly.>>> Yeah Earlie you are right on with that. I been building a couple of boxes lately and the places I been getting my CPU's have been dropping the prices almost every day. I don't think they are doing that out of the goodness of their hearts :-) erg
