I agree 100% that a major gold bull is out of the question unless the US and its currency are taken down a few pegs.

You argue that that the US is so powerful that this will never happen. We shall see. I have serious doubts about that thesis.

How quickly the Washington Agreement is forgotten!

Did the signers not say that gold would continue to play a role in the worlds monetary system? Did they not limit the amount of selling for the next 5 years? And is the amount of this selling already known?

(or are you suggesting that the role they had in mind was for it to perpetually stand humbled at the altar of fiat? -g-)

Why would governments sell all their biggest, or second biggest reserve asset, sometimes people here seem to think that governments will act against their self interest. I can't see it.
