That little IPO Virage (ticker VRGE) will report earnings on Monday.

If you remember I bought them at 16ish.

In addition to earnings being posted on Monday, it is also the end of their quiet period.

This means that they can begin to get Buy recommendations from Credit Suisse First Boston who handled the IPO.

In short, this company had patented a process that allows for various forms of Media, like T.V. footage to become searchable on their network infranet or on the internet.

With high bandwidth coming via fiber optics, HDR wireless, cable modem, etc. there will be a high demand for this technology in the near future if not already.

Just my opinion.

I envision being able to search the data base of CNBC, CNN, the major networks and be able to pull up clips on any news item I wish.
This perhaps isn't worth as much to me as it is to the many T.V. producers, movie makers, media types, etc. etc.

Could be big.
Very early in the grand scheme of things, though.
I'm using a small amount of money that I consider venture capital on this.
I would believe that their earning would begin well before the completion of high bandwidth in all homes, since most of the networks need their footage to be searchable right now.
Perhaps a nice shiney pebble and a leader in the field.

We'll see.

Just the opinion of a stooge...
