Sam,

Jason's Intel post is of interest in as much as they are a SanDisk licensee and the information gives insight into general trends within the semi industry. I think most of us here have acknowledged Eli's comments about who SanDisk's true competitors really are.

I have other interesting news about Intel I hope to post later today.

Sam,

Agreed...I didn't add an analysis. I was glad to see ANY coverage of flash, and of course disappointed to see SNDK not mentioned.

Yes, it appears that INTC's flash competes against SSTI more directly than SNDK..they made no mention of removable flash. The article did mention high density flash, which Eli clearly noted SSTI does NOT produce. (yet?)

Flash's assets are clear, and the uses are widespread and growing rapidly. It also seems that we here have selected SNDK as the best investment. Only time will tell. Perhaps other flash plays will present themselves over time. Right now my money is behind SNDK, for all the reasons we discuss here so frequently. (royalties, de facto standard, etc..)

My mind and wallet will always be open to a flash story that looks as compelling as SNDK's does right now...But, for the time being, all my eggs are in SNDK's flash basket...

Jason

The Investor's Business Daily EPS rating for SanDisk...

...is now 94 indicating an earnings profile that surpasses 93% of the stocks they track (everything except b.b. stocks).

For some reason SanDisk was omitted from the earnings summary "Winners and Losers" on both July 20th and July 21st, 2000. Does anyone have connections with IBD that would help rectify this omission?
