Other factors: A number of funds simply dumped upon learning that JDSU was buying SDLI (imho a terribly foolish move). They may actually be buying the rally so as not be "left behind." Indeed, they know the index will be buying no matter what. So why wait? In addition, the fact that it is becoming clearer (imo) that the deal will likely go though with only a minimum of SEC interference may also be hastening their return. Finally, short covering. I know I'd be covering right about now if I was short. The stars do appear to be aligned quite well for JDSU shareholders.
