re: the discipline and luck to wait for such a low point to get in.

The discipline I'll take credit for. But not luck, as I don't believe in it. Luck is what happens to investors who cover their home office with bulletin boards full of charts, notes, and Investing Principles (which get read every day), and calculate the risk/reward balance constantly.

I buy low, because I am willing to pass up many opportunities. Over and over, I have studied a stock thoroughly, waited till it went out of favopr, set a buy-point, had the stock bounce 10-30% above my buy-point, and go up for years afterward. There is nothing I have to own, no stock I am married to (a mistake I have seen many many many tech investors make over the years).
