JRI, the IDC data will be officially released tomorrow or Sunday and I believe that the street will react very positively to this news. Granted the YOY growth is 22%, a relatively low number for DELL, but then again DELL is now a $30 billion company. Armed with this info I bought heavily in August 55 and 60 calls this afternoon anticipating that the stock should move into the mid $50s by the end of next week. Regards, Gabriel

Gabriel re: 23 cents is the eps number that pops out

Thank you for the kind heads up. For curiosity, how much was included for investment gains in the model, I think we had .02 last quarter?

Best,
Mike

Hey Gabriel!..Ref: Revenue number should be $7.944 Billion.

The Revenue for Dell for the 1st Qtr FY01 was $7.28 Billion.

As I recall they expected Revenue Growth to be 7.8% for the
2nd Qtr FY01. That would put it at $7.85 Billion.

I can certainly live with your figure of $7.944 Billion.

Final Answer. Let's go for $8.0 Billion and consider it
a good deal.

Angel: .21 is the whisper number. .23 is becoming the semi-whisper and includes revenue from financing. So .23 won't cut it for a break into higher prices. It may take us upto 56-60.
If they show .23 from operations and another .02 to .03 from financing(financing, investments, ventures), watch out, we will hit 65-70. I hope your numbers are right. But I am still figuring on .21+.02.
