DS...I tend to agree with you re: Greenspan. What has me so damn confused is the dearth of northern movement (in the NAZ) commensurate with the earnings we have seen so far. Great earnings just don't seem to be doing a thing.

Oh well, maybe its just the water.

OT Market psychology:

DS, to me it's unimportant what Greenspan will say on Tuesday, to be honest with you. What IS important, as a short-term trader, or as one who is looking for an opportunity to enter a long term position on a strong stock on a dip (as I am on NTAP LEAPs) is whether the market will turn negative and skittish in anticipation of Greenspan's speech. It's been a pattern over the past few months that the market sells off over the week prior to a Greenspan talk, then rallies into it. That's what I'm counting on next week.

Listening to the talking heads, they seem pretty calm about GS as well.

That, of course, is when the risk of market shock is greatest. When everyone is sure AG will close down the NYSE and convert us all to gold bullion -- that's a no-risk situation, as everything is priced in already. You and I both like Malakiel, so I won't preach to the choir.
