On Thursday, JDS jumped nearly $21 a share on news it will be added to the S&P 500 next Wednesday, and today’s gain was an extension of that rally. The company will replace Rite Aid in that benchmark index.

The company was also the beneficiary of new coverage from Goldman Sachs, who added the stock to its recommended list on Thursday.
