I recalled a remark about how Love outdrove people using an iron at Pine Valley. People would clap when a fellow would hit a driver and hush when Love took out an iron......yet Love would take it further with an iron than the fellow with the driver.

I did not think I would find an internet story about it but I did. People watching network TV probably want to see the pros bang the daylights out of the ball, not watch a skill game.

It is not literally one of the great driving courses in the world because the scratch golfer doesn't need to hit his driver. In the 1986 Walker Cup matches there, Davis Love III didn't even carry a wood - he one ironed the course to death.
