Was that number adjusted to reflect the customers lost in selling off systems to AWE and others required as a merger condition?

From a Verizon press release on June 19th....

investor.verizon.com

In San Francisco, AT&T Wireless is acquiring the remaining interest in a wireless partnership from Vodafone AirTouch. In San Diego, AT&T Wireless is buying 100 percent of the GTE Wireless operations. In Houston, AT&T Wireless is buying 100 percent of the PrimeCo PCS LP operation.

Collectively, the transactions are valued at approximately $3.3 billion. The combined operations cover about 15 million POPs and serve over 1.3 million customers.

I'm not sure about the answer....but I have trouble imagining that Verizon added 2.1m new customers during the quarter. If the real number is 800,000 they are going to have to step up their branding campaign. I doubt most people know who they are yet....

Just for comparision....the combined SBC/BLS wireless entitiy would have added over 800,000 subs.
