Yes, I read the book. The movie I was thinking of was about Michaelangelo starring Charlton Heston. I forgot that Lust for Life was about Vincent vanGogh. I usually don't make slips like that. Now I can't remember what the Michaelangelo film was called. The Pride and the Passion keeps blocking my memory and I know that wasn't it because that was a movie about a giant cannon and was set during a civil war in Spain or something and as I recall starred Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Sophia Lauren.
