B.P.:
Can you find me a system w/ advanced memory(eg., PC133, DDR, PC100) that does NOT infringe on RMBS patents?

Can you substantiate the claim that RMBS does NOT own this IP?

Me:
Well I could do that for you, considering that I'm using such a memory at this very moment. ...But then if I did, I'd have to charge you 0.05% of your earnings for the next three years.

Oooops! I guess I just priced my IP right out of the market.

I think I'll just fly off and consider how these P2000 folks could have possibly been able to muster the courage to show their faces in public after having erred so!

Blake,

Can you find me a system w/ advanced memory(eg., PC133, DDR, PC100) that does NOT infringe on RMBS patents?

It is impossible to build a computer that does not seemingly infringe on hundreds of patents, owned by dozens of different companies. I have enumerated a number of these patents in the past.

The question becomes, how is this situation dealt with? The slow market acceptance of DRDRAM has forced Rambus into a situation where they are going for broke, trying to extract as much money as possible for their tiny little piece of the IP pie.

How will it turn out? Nobody knows.
