I was one of those investors in AMTX(and about 4 other pure play DSL companies too) back in 95 too. Maybe even earlier? But I bailed after about a year of seeing the incumbents clearly interested in PR and not deployments. It was a great learning experience for me to see how the real world telecom players work. About the only thing I think I differ with you on is, IMHO-- ATT got the ADSL ball rolling. Mike Armstrong spending $102 billion on the cable plants forced the incumbents to move or die. And they rolled with ADSL because that is almost direct competition to today's current HFC(cable modem) architecture bandwidth capabilities. What are you referring to by the Nov 99 FCC Ruling? Do you mean the ruling about co-location, or are you referring to the 99-238 ruling that Pronto(SBC) is attempting to take advantage of? Must be the line sharing ruling you are referring to, right? Nice Job MIchael... Although it REALLY seems like this time is for REAL I (WE) have been lead down this road before only to be brought back to westHELL (end of march $40, end of April $13). It does feel right this time and with the numbers they posted last week it reaffirms the TRUTH is there! When I was first introduced (3 1/2 yrs ago) to ADSL there was NEVER any doubt that it would be the future choice for high speed internet service and with the choices of investing in ADSL (not many), WSTL always seemed like the best of the best. Well, if this is truly the beginning of OUR TIME, than I can live with the past three years since we know where WSTL will end up$$$ Lets just hope there are no more POTHOLES down the road..better yet CLIFFS (Market, Industry or Company related)! AND we get on the Autobahn! GO WSTL! PS...Thank you MZ for ALWAYS being there for your shareholders. I know of NO other CEO who makes him/her-self available to the shareholders as you do!
