Business Overview
Network Appliance, Inc. makes and supports network data storage devices designed to provide fast, reliable file service for data- intensive networks. Products consist of filers and proxy caching solutions developed to address the specific needs of network environments and the World Wide Web. The company's filers make use of a software kernel optimized to perform the file service task. By using its proprietary software architecture, Network Appliance is able to use standard hardware components rather than specialized hardware. There are products for small workgroups, large departments and enterprise class filers. All products include Data ONTAP which modularizes and administrates data. Released in 99, NetCache 3.4 offers corporate intranet/internet access and advanced security features.
