FYI, the call for 100% cash was in his California Technology Stock Letter. I don't know what he did in his mutual funds.

He apparently has gone either to cash or short in one of his mutual funds waiting to get back in to market between now and september.

I believe that Murphy also told subscribers to hold on to their long positions as this was a trading opportunity but he was still bullish for the long term.

Historical perspective. I believe Hulbert shows under performance and Murphy went to cash just before Y2K and I am not sure when he got back in and how much of the NASDAQ run up he caught. With all the advertising I get from him, I would think some great calls in this period would be highlighted if he greatly outperformed. Count me as a skeptic but then again, I don't believe any of these timers really add much over good analysis we do here to find great companies when selling cheap.
